Open Position: Quick Lane Auto Service Technician & Alignment & Suspension Specialist

Summary: Overview: As an Alignment and Suspension Specialist within our Quick Lane, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of vehicles by inspecting, diagnosing, and correcting front end alignment and suspension issues. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing vehicle handling, tire longevity, and overall driving comfort for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Inspections: Perform thorough inspections of vehicles to assess alignment and suspension issues using precision tools and equipment.
  • Alignment Adjustments: Utilize computerized alignment systems to adjust caster, camber, and toe angles according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Suspension Repairs: Diagnose and repair suspension components such as shocks, struts, springs, control arms, and steering linkage.
  • Wheel Balancing: Ensure proper wheel balance to prevent vibrations and uneven tire wear.
  • Customer Service: Communicate findings and recommended repairs clearly to customers, addressing their concerns and providing exceptional service.
  • Quality Control: Conduct post-repair tests to verify alignment and suspension adjustments, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, new vehicle technologies, and best practices through training and professional development.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in using alignment equipment and diagnostic tools, with a strong understanding of suspension systems and their components.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose complex alignment and suspension issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision is critical in performing alignments and suspension repairs to ensure accurate adjustments.
  • Customer Focus: Friendly demeanor with excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and address their needs.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy parts and work in various positions under vehicles for extended periods.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) in steering and suspension are often preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Automotive Service Centers: Typically employed in automotive repair shops, dealerships, or specialty alignment and suspension centers.
  • Conditions: Work may involve exposure to noise, fumes, and various weather conditions when performing tests or repairs outdoors.

Career Path:

  • Advancement: Opportunities exist to advance to senior technician roles, supervisory positions, or specialize further in advanced vehicle diagnostics and repair.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, including:
    • Changing oil and filters
    • Inspecting and replacing bulbs, belts, and hoses
    • Assessing, adjusting, replacement, and cleaning brakes
    • Battery service, brake work, alignments
    • Tire changing and exchanges of fluids
    • Inform team advisor of any additional safety concerns regarding customer vehicles
    • Begin hands-on training and Ford curriculum certification
    • Maintain an energetic, professional, and positive personality throughout the workday
    • Maintains professional appearance
    • Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Required Experience in auto service or recent completion of an auto tech program or trade school. The company will provide training for inexperienced individuals who meet other requirements.
  • Possess your own set of tools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Excellent customer service skills, documentation of inspection reports.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to submit and clean background check.

Compensation:

Technicians are paid a flat rate per hour. Expected range (annual earnings): $65,000-$100,000 Annually

Work Hours & Schedule:

45 hours per week worked, hours are Monday-Saturday. 8 hours per day, and 4.5 hours on Saturday.
